Student Affairs Mitigation (SAM) Program
The SAM Program plays an integral role in the system-wide Community Safety Plan as it relates to our approach to a holistic and inclusive tiered response. Our team is available to enhance on-campus activities and events by actively monitoring the environment in an effort to promote cooperation with expectations and policies, while minimizing potential disruptions. When our intervention is necessary, our goal is to de-escalate the situation.
Although we remain separate from campus security and law enforcement, our team has established relationships with both allowing for efficient strategy discussions and response plans for activities and events. The SAM Program is constantly evolving to support the needs of our campus community.
