SAM Information

Thanks for your interest in joining the SAM team!

The SAM team is a specially trained group of Student Affairs staff that is available to enhance on-campus activities and events by actively monitoring the environment in an effort to promote cooperation with expectations and policies, while minimizing potential disruptions. The team has established relationships with UCPD and the security team allowing for efficient strategy discussions and response plans should a disruption occur. Whether at a home football game at the historic Rose Bowl or at an on-campus protest, the SAM team provides a valuable service to support our students and our campus community!

Serving as a member of the SAM team provides an outstanding professional development opportunity, the ability to learn and develop new skills, and to network with colleagues from across Student Affairs and the UCLA campus. The SAM team typically gathers in-person or via Zoom on a monthly basis for on-going training and in-service opportunities. Prior experience is not required, just a willingness to learn!
