Volunteer Information

UCLA Recreation provides a wide range of programs and services to the UCLA community. To support these programs and services, we may offer volunteer opportunities for qualified individuals who are interested in supporting our mission and working alongside our wonderful staff! Volunteer opportunities are unpaid, however, approved volunteers performing responsibilities within the defined opportunity are eligible for workers' compensation insurance should an injury occur (additional information provided after an applicant is approved.) Please note we are unable to provide volunteer opportunities for academic credit or as an alternative to civil or criminal penalties.

UCLA Recreation Volunteer Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (the minimum age may be lowered to 15 for certain volunteer opportunities)
  • Submit a completed volunteer application, as well as additional documents once application is approved
  • Once approved, agree to a criminal history background check
  • Once approved, complete all training requirements before beginning a volunteer opportunity, including a volunteer orientation
