Commuter Events

Commuter Support & Programs works hard to hold various commuter events throughout the academic year. Our events provide opportunities for commuter students to network, create connections, and have fun on campus! We understand that life as a commuter can be isolating, so we host quarterly events to encourage participation and to provide resources. Follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to receive updates on upcoming events!

New Commuter Student Welcome

Each year, during True Bruin Welcome, Commuter Support and Programs hosts a New Commuter Student Welcome where incoming commuter students can meet one another, hear from campus resources, watch the New Undergraduate Student Welcome, and kick off the year together. At the end of the event, students walk down to Westwood together to participate in the Westwood Block Party!

New students, join us at the New Commuter Student Welcome on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 12pm-3pm! Meet us at Drake Stadium for free food, giveaways, and more. RSVP At sa.ucla.edu/Forms/p/NCSW23

Commuter Breakfast, Lunches, and Dinners

Because commuter students have unique schedules, Commuter Support & Programs offers quarterly breakfasts, lunches, and/or dinners for students on campus. Students are able to stop by for a meal, chat with fellow commuters, or study as they eat! Those unable to stay are welcome to grab their meals and head to class.

Stay up-to-date on all of our events by connecting with us on social media.

Commuter Awareness Day

Student Commuter Awareness Day is meant to bring visibility of the commuter student experience to the larger campus community. In years past, we were provided a space in the center of campus by collaborating with UCLA Transportation’s Rideshare Week in order to highlight the value of commuter students. We also had fun activities for students to learn about commuter resources and lots of giveaways!
